6/17/10: Casas Receives Key Endorsements from Major Conservative Groups
June 17th, 2010
LAWRENCEVILLE - State Rep. David Casas (R-Lilburn) picked up several major endorsements Thursday for his re-election bid to the Georgia House of Representatives. Support came from prominent state and national conservative groups including Georgia Right to Life (GRTL), the National Rifle Association (NRA) and The Tea Party of Georgia.
Casas also earned a 100%/Grade A from Americans for Prosperity for his votes to encourage job growth through small business investment, improve government transparency and accountability and protect Georgians' rights to health care choice from the federal health insurance legislation passed earlier this year.
"I have always stood for the principles these groups embrace: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," said Casas. "Each group certainly adheres to those principles and I am very grateful for their support in my re-election. I look forward to continuing my work to ensure these core ideals are upheld here in Georgia."
Georgia NRA graded Casas at an "A" for his long history of 2nd Amendment protection. This year Casas voted in favor of two bills aimed at clarifying Georgia's legal carrying laws and enhancing rights of private property owners relating to their 2nd Amendment rights.
Dan Becker of GRTL praised Casas as a "candidate who has demonstrated a willingness to stand for the sanctity of life" in Georgia.
The Tea Party of Georgia endorsed Casas' campaign and has awarded him the Georgia Patriot Award for his championing of conservative values and defending personal freedoms.
State Rep. David Casas represents the 103rd House District which includes a portion of Gwinnett County. He is seeking re-election to the office he has held since 2003.
